MET MAST DUE FOR REMOVAL AT JACK'S LANE WIND FARM

The removal of the meteorological monitoring mast situated on Jack’s Lane Wind Farm site is due to begin on 22nd February 2016. Located to the south-east of turbine T01, the 80m high test mast which was erected in February 2014, has been continually recording data to provide the RES project team with a comprehensive understanding of the wind capacity and climate at the site.

Paul Sanderson, RES Asset Manager, explains:
"The meteorological monitoring mast has done an excellent job of collecting data over the past 2 years to enable us to accurately monitor wind farm metrological conditions and hence wind farm performance. Work to dismantle the mast will take approximately 2-3 days with mast sections taken down on site and removed in standard sized lorries to prevent any disruption on local roads."

As part of the decommissioning work, the mast’s location will be reinstated to its former condition once it has been dismantled and removed from the site.
