TURBINE DELIVERY ROUTE TESTED

Turbine manufacturers Nordex this week undertook a trial run of the planned route from Immingham Docks to Jack's Lane Wind Farm in preparation for turbine component delivery this autumn. A newsletter advising of delivery times and the approved route will be circulated to local people in the coming weeks.

The turbine blades are the longest of the components and therefore the most challenging to deliver so the trial run used the same type of vehicle that will be used to deliver the turbine blades to site. To make sure the trial run was as realistic as possible, the vehicle also simulated a blade tip overhanging the back of the trailer. The trial run was a success and confirmed that the delivery route will be suitable for getting the turbine components to site.
